# Visible-Creature Census (D36) — creature_census_report.md
Date: 2026-08-31. Worker: visual-cataloging. Scope: 511 pieces (GAN 1–512; GAN 0 superrare excluded). No sweeps.

## Method
Objective creature assigned per piece by a fixed priority chain, never guessed:
1. **Filename descriptor** (Pindar's own hand): distinctive creature token in `ArweaveFilename`
(whale, shark, blob, spirit, heart, warrior, ghost, twin, slender, cronenberg).
2. **GANg label** (Pindar-assigned): whaleGAN→whale, blobGAN→blob, spiritGAN→spirit,
   sharkGAN→shark, slenderGAN→slender, spaceGAN→invader.
3. **Prior visual validation** (theories/claude_visual_validation.json sheet reads):
   cat 147, rat 162, clown 204, robot 206, turkey 264, pig 412, dog 276, alien 268, hammerhead 50, invader 174/310/314/349/465/466.
4. **Naga palindrome Name** spelling a creature: Dog God→dog, Flow Wolf→wolf, Taco Cat→cat, Star Rats→rat.
5. **Type** tag: Ghost→ghost, Alien→alien, Zombie→zombie, Monster→monster, Bot→robot, Cyborg→cyborg, Invader→invader, Twins→twin, Sprite→sprite, Cronenberg→cronenberg.
6. Fallback **skull** (the collection's base subject).

Output: `lore_catalog_runs/creature_census.json` = {gan: {creature, is_bip39, source}}.

## Census tabulation (26 distinct creature words; 17 are BIP-39)
| creature | BIP-39 | count | note |
|---|---|---|---|
| skull | yes | 278 | base subject (default) |
| ghost | yes | 102 | Type/gang |
| robot | yes | 27 | Bot type |
| invader | **no** | 23 | spaceGAN / Invader |
| monster | yes | 22 | |
| cronenberg | **no** | 15 | |
| **slender** | **yes** | **11** | filename ×10 + slenderGAN 480 |
| twin | yes | 8 | |
| cyborg | **no** | 6 | |
| zombie | **no** | 3 | |
| dog | yes | 2 | 159, 276 |
| whale·spirit·heart·warrior·cat·wolf·clown·turkey·alien·pig | yes | 1 each | one-off |
| blob·hammerhead·shark·rat·sprite | **no** | 1 each | one-off, not BIP-39 |

**BIP-39 creature coverage: 459 / 511 pieces** (52 pieces carry a non-BIP-39 creature: invader 23, cronenberg 15, cyborg 6, zombie 3, blob/hammerhead/shark/rat/sprite 1 each).

## THE KEY SEARCH — principled 11 where every member's creature is BIP-39

### FOUND — exact-11 (single-word class): the SLENDER family
`slender` is a BIP-39 word, and it is the **only** creature-family in the whole
collection whose member count is exactly **11**. Membership is fully principled:
every piece Pindar labeled slender, via his filename descriptor (10) or the slenderGAN gang (1). No cherry-picking.
- **GAN order:** 22, 26, 32, 74, 79, 88, 97, 103, 107, 109, 480
- **Mint order:** 22, 26, 32, 74, 79, 88, 97, 103, 107, 109, 480 (mints 88, 91, 97, 142, 148, 157, 168, 174, 180, 182, 623)
- All 11 creatures = "slender" → all BIP-39. **Flagged exact-11.**

### NEAR-MISS — 11 *distinct* BIP-39 creature words (NOT clean; circular)
The natural principled class of *distinct* creatures = the **rare creatures** (family ≤ 2):
16 distinct words. Of these, 11 are BIP-39 and 5 are not — so the rare-creature class is
**NOT** all-BIP-39. You only reach an all-BIP-39 eleven by adding "must be BIP-39" to the
selector, which is circular, not principled.
- 11 BIP-39 rare words (mint order): whale(5), spirit(13), heart(34), warrior(55), cat(147), dog(159), wolf(180), clown(204), turkey(264), alien(268), pig(412). [dog also 276]
- 5 rare words that BREAK it (not BIP-39): **blob(8), hammerhead(50), shark(89), rat(162), sprite(194)**.

### Other principled rules tested — none yields a clean all-BIP-39 eleven
- (b) one drop: no single drop holds exactly 11 all-BIP-39 distinct creatures.
- (c) ratified glitch classes: none has 11 members all reading BIP-39 creatures.
- (d) one-off-creature set (family = 1): **15** pieces, of which only 10 are BIP-39 (5 fail as above).

## Inverse (part 4) — objectively UNIQUE (one-off) creatures
15 pieces are the sole bearer of their creature: whale 5, blob 8, spirit 13, heart 34,
hammerhead 50, warrior 55, shark 89, cat 147, rat 162, wolf 180, sprite 194, clown 204,
turkey 264, alien 268, pig 412. (dog is near-unique, 2 pieces: 159, 276.)

## Verdict
A principled **exact-11 all-BIP-39** set **exists** = the **Slender family** (11 pieces, creature "slender", BIP-39), the only creature-family sized exactly 11.
For *distinct* creature words there is **no** clean principled 11: the rare-creature class holds 16 distinct creatures, 11 BIP-39 / 5 not (blob, hammerhead, shark, rat, sprite break it).
