# Reading the eleven words as an instruction rather than as an answer

Worker report. I was given one job and it was not to search for a seed phrase. The collection
owner's reading is that the eleven words recovered from the Act 1 Review's named batches —

> **escape** *cloud* **source** — **collect** *reward* — **remember** *rose* — **draw** *legend* —
> **give** *final*

— are a clue rather than the answer, an instruction telling the solver what to do to find the seed
phrase. My job was to work out what it instructs. This report takes each clause seriously, says what
it could name in this collection, ranks those candidates by how concrete and checkable they are,
states the best complete interpretation, says what that interpretation would have us do next, and
then gives an honest verdict on whether the sentence is a message or an artefact of how it was
built.

The verdict is that it is an artefact, and section 6 gives the number that settles it. Two findings
turned up along the way that are worth more than the verdict, and they are in section 7.

Everything below is drawn from `site/txt/*.txt` and `site/raw/*.html` (109 archived pages),
`descriptions/per_gan.json`, `arweave_csv/bitgans_act1.csv`, `arfs_names.json`, `arfs_files.json`,
`master_dataset.json`, and the earlier reports in `theories/`. Four external pages were fetched to
identify the four tribute artists; they are cited where used and nothing fetched contained anything
addressed to a reader, so there is nothing I need to quote back as suspicious.

## 1. What the sentence is, and exactly how much freedom went into building it

The Act 1 Review archive files sixty-eight artworks into twenty-four batches, thirteen numbered and
eleven named, and one artwork — #512 — sits in the container folder belonging to no batch. Merging
`line` and `lines` as a single batch on the reading that the plural is a filename typo leaves ten
named batches plus the folder, which is eleven slots. Read in the archive's own alphabetical batch
order, each slot contributing the Essence of one of its members, those eleven slots produce the
sentence above.

Five of the eleven words cost no choice at all, because their batch holds exactly one artwork:

Six words were chosen out of pools of four, four, four, four, four and seven, which is
4 × 4 × 4 × 4 × 4 × 7 = **7,168 possible sentences**. The six choices that were actually made follow
no single rule: `escape` is the highest GAN in its batch, `source` is the second, `reward` is the
highest, `remember` is the second, `draw` is the lowest and `give` is the lowest. There is no
selection rule in the archive that returns this set, and I could not construct one that is not
simply a description of the answer.

There is a seventh degree of freedom that is easy to miss. The clause grouping is 3 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2,
and the irregularity of that first clause is doing work. Nothing in the archive says the words break
there. The same eleven words also group as `escape cloud` / `source collect` / `reward remember` /
`rose draw` / `legend give` / `final`, which does not read, and as `escape` / `cloud source collect`
/ `reward` / `remember rose` / `draw legend give final`, which reads differently. The grouping was
chosen after the words were, to make them read.

## 2. The forced words are apt, and that aptness is not evidence

The strongest intuitive support for the sentence is that its five forced words are not arbitrary —
each of the four tribute pieces carries an Essence that seems to describe the artist it honours. I
checked all four against the public record and the correspondence is real, and stronger than the
brief claimed. It is also, unfortunately, fully explained by something other than a hidden message.

- **#447 Brinkman nimBudGAN → `cloud`.** Bryan Brinkman's Art Blocks collection is called
  *Nimbuds*, four hundred cumulonimbus cloud faces. The bitGAN's title is `Brinkman nimBudGAN` and
  its `Name` trait is `Nim budGAN`. The Essence `cloud` is a one-word description of what the
  picture is.
- **#445 Magic Internet moneyGAN → `collect`.** Colborn Bell founded the Museum of Crypto Art and
  his own NFT series is called *Magic Internet Money*. The bitGAN carries `Type: Collector`, the
  only one in 512. The Essence `collect` is a one-word description of who the man is.
- **#446 SuperRare roseGAN → `rose`.** Zack Yanger, who works as SuperRareRoses, tokenised fifty-nine
  rose photographs in memory of his sister Rose. The Essence `rose` repeats the name.
- **#448 Crypto stellaGAN → `legend`.** StellaBelle is one of the early crypto-art writers, and
  `legend` is ordinary praise for an early figure.

Every one of these is what an artist does when he names a tribute piece: he names it after its
subject. Pindar gave the Brinkman piece the Essence `cloud` because Brinkman draws clouds, not
because a sentence needed a noun in position two. And this matters more than it first appears,
because **those five forced words appear in all 7,168 candidate sentences**. Their aptness is a
constant across the whole space. It cannot discriminate the chosen sentence from any of the other
7,167, and so it transfers no support whatever to the six words that were chosen. The intuition that
"the fixed words are meaningful, so the sentence must be meaningful" is the load-bearing error in
the reading, and it does not hold.

One phrase does survive this argument and deserves to be stated in its favour, because it is the
best thing the sentence has. Under the un-merged reading in which `line` and `lines` are separate
batches, `lines` holds only #486 (`remember`) and `roses` holds only #446 (`rose`), and `lines`
sorts immediately before `roses`. **"remember rose" therefore costs no choices at all**, and it is
apt for exactly the reason section 2 gives — #446 honours a man whose entire body of work is an act
of remembrance for his dead sister. That is a real, choice-free, semantically loaded adjacency.
Against it: there are five adjacent pairs among the six forced words, one of them reads as verb plus
object, and the position of `rose` in alphabetical batch order is determined by the word `rose`
itself, because the batch is named `roses` after the same subject that gave the artwork its Essence.
The adjacency is self-referential rather than informative.

## 3. Clause by clause: what each could name, ranked by how checkable it is

### 3.1 "escape the cloud source"

*Ranked most concrete first.*

1. **Journal page 015, `bitGANs on arweave`.** This is the single most concrete referent for the
   phrase anywhere in the corpus and I did not expect to find it. `site/txt/journal__page015.txt`,
   dated 1 January 2022 and last edited 31 January 2022, is a page whose entire content is a list of
   links to the collection's permanent-web source: the CSV of all Act 1 properties for bitGANs 0–512,
   and seven ZIP archives of the art, one per drop, including `Act 1 - Review (bitGANs 445-512)`.
   The permanent web is a cloud, the CSV and the ZIPs are the source files, and the page was
   published five days before the clue. If "cloud source" names anything in this collection it names
   this. What "escaping" it would mean concretely is pulling the files down and working them
   off-line, which is precisely what this project has already done — `arweave_dl/` holds all seven
   archives and `arweave_csv/bitgans_act1.csv` holds the CSV. **Checkable, checked, and already
   exhausted.**
2. **`bitgans_act1.csv` itself.** Arweave transaction `UwiYOGcO2pp-uRcyLnFxgYeSAwBzKSl91Nzz_wpypuw`,
   uploaded 31 January 2022 at 19:48:56 UTC, seven minutes before the artwork files. It is the
   artist's own authoring sheet, 513 rows, eleven columns, and it is byte-identical to the
   `bitgan_properties.csv` this project has held since 7 August. `theories/descriptions.md` lists it
   as never opened; it is opened, and it is the same file. Section 7 records what is in it.
3. **cloudpainter.com, Pindar's studio site.** The lore's origin story is that the bitGANs
   materialised on his GPUs, and `news__chapter-2-the-superrare-bitgans.txt` says it in those words:
   "one of cloudpainters GPUs spun up." The cloud source, read as the place the bitGANs came from,
   is cloudpainter. What escaping it would mean is not defined — the bitGANs escaped it in the
   fiction, and a solver cannot repeat that. Concrete as a noun, empty as a verb.
4. **The GIF files' internal source.** Pindar's own byteGAN puzzle was solved by downloading an
   image off-chain and finding Photoshop layer names in its metadata
   (`news__the-bytegan-puzzle.txt`), so "escape the source file" has direct precedent. **This route
   is closed.** `theories/gif_structure.md` and `theories/missing_drops.md` between them cover all
   512 files: every one is `GIF89a` with exactly two application extensions, `NETSCAPE2.0` and
   `XMP DataXMP`, no comment extension anywhere, no plain-text extension anywhere, and zero trailing
   bytes after the `0x3B` terminator in every file.
5. **The site's HTML source.** Also closed. `theories/puzzle_pages.md` establishes that the clue page
   carries no hidden element, no comment, no `alt` text, no `data-` payload. I re-ran a comment sweep
   over all 109 archived pages and found only Squarespace chrome — `Nav`, `Burger`, `Social`,
   `Title and nav wrapper`.
6. **The Rinkeby testnet.** `journal__page016.txt` says the thirty-two testGANs "escaped the rinkeby
   testnet." Rinkeby was deprecated in 2023 and its state is not retrievable.
7. **Somnium Space parcel 2078.** Where the sixteen escaped bitGANs were found, in a spiral, in
   September 2021. Still reachable, but the escape puzzle was solved and closed at the time.

### 3.2 "collect the reward"

I traced every reward, prize and bounty in the pre-clue corpus and **every one of them was claimed
and publicly closed before 5 February 2022**:

- *The Escape* (8 Sep 2021) offered a guaranteed bitGAN in the next drop to whoever found the sixteen
  escaped bitGANs. The page itself records the award: "Great Job Grammar Error."
- *A New Portal* (25 Oct 2021) offered `Ghostly spookyGAN (0o0)` for cracking the portal riddle. The
  page records the solution by Mazzone11.
- *The podGAN Invasion* (4 Dec 2021) reserved bitGANs for blu30rgy and o-townmushroom.
- *Testnet Auctions* (28 Oct 2021) states flatly, "PRIZE — There is unfortunately no prize."
- *The Ides are Here* (12 Nov 2021) states, "No individual rewards here, just a search for truth."
- The one offer with a standing condition, the second podGAN in the podGallery puzzle, expired on
  31 December 2021 by its own terms.

So there is no outstanding reward to collect. The only reward in play on 5 February 2022 is the
Magic Internet moneyGAN sitting in the puzzle wallet, which makes the clause self-referential: it
says "win this puzzle." That is a statement of the goal, not a step toward it, and a clue that
instructs you to solve the clue is not an instruction.

One small structural echo is worth recording without being claimed. The word `reward` is the Essence
of #496, `Cloudy skullGAN`, whose `Type` trait is `Cloud` and whose `Name` trait is `Cloud Skull`.
So the sentence's noun `cloud` and its noun `reward` both sit on cloud artworks. It is a pretty
coincidence and it points nowhere.

### 3.3 "remember the rose"

The referent is unambiguous — #446 `SuperRare roseGAN`, Arweave file `446_roses.gif`, mint index 661,
the second-last mint of Act 1. What remembering it would mean is where this collapses. There is
nothing at #446 to retrieve: its description is the boilerplate shared by every Act 1 Review piece,
its traits are ordinary for a cryptoArtGAN, its GIF is one of only two in the drop running to
eighty-eight frames (the other is #445), and its file carries the same two extensions as every other
file in the collection. The one artefact that would make the clause operative — some object
associated with the roseGAN and held somewhere else — does not exist in the pre-clue corpus.
`cloudpainter.com/superrareroses` is referenced in search results as a Van Arman page about the
artist; it now returns 404 and no archived copy is in `site/`.

The clause's real content is emotional rather than operational: it is the sentence acknowledging
that #446 is a memorial. That is the most human thing the eleven words do, and it is also the least
actionable.

### 3.4 "draw the legend"

This is the clause the brief hoped most from, because "legend" is both a myth and the key to a map,
and it is the clause that fails hardest.

1. **Legend as map key.** There is no map in this collection that carries a legend. The two candidate
   maps are `act1review_contact.png` and the Arweave-hosted `allpodgans_24000x13500.jpg`; both are
   bare contact sheets, grids of artworks with no key, no labels and no index. The Cryptovoxels
   bitGALLERY and the Somnium Space parcel are three-dimensional rooms, not charts. **The one
   genuine chart-with-a-legend in the whole corpus is the byteGAN sets chart**, which Pindar
   introduces with "They haven't given up all their secrets as can be seen by the question marks" —
   a legend with missing entries, which is exactly the shape the reading wants. It was published on
   1 May 2023, fifteen months after the clue, and it is about byteGANs, a different collection on a
   different contract. It cannot be what a February 2022 clue points at.
2. **Legend as lore, drawn by the robot.** This one is real and it is a genuine mechanic.
   `journal__hidden-lore-revealed.txt` describes it: a bitGAN channels its backstory to its owner,
   the owner reveals the story publicly, and the robot then draws that bitGAN on a 4×6 postcard and
   mails it. Drawing the legend is a thing that literally happens in this project. The page records
   exactly two revealed legends, and both are Act 1 Review artworks: `Dancing testGAN #484` and
   `Binary roboGAN (1000010)`, which is #459. **It was published on 12 September 2022**, seven months
   after the clue and three weeks after the Review drop, so it cannot be intended clue material —
   and neither of the two artworks it names is one the sentence selects. #484's Essence is `soon` and
   #459's is `small`.
3. **Draw as a lottery draw.** No drawing, raffle or random selection is described anywhere in the
   pre-clue corpus. `news__crucible-unbound.txt` mentions raffles; it is from April 2023.

I want to flag the #484 lore text specifically, because it is the clearest single illustration of
why this whole exercise is unsafe. Its revealed legend reads: *"coiner of the iconic term
'testing…testing… 1… 2… 3.' Legend in the sound engineering community. Never forget."* That is one
sentence, about one artwork, and it contains `legend`, it contains `sound` (which sits in the `aa`
pool alongside `escape`), and "never forget" is a paraphrase of `remember`. A corpus this dense in
these exact words will echo any eleven words you pull out of it.

### 3.5 "give the final"

#512 `Quantum glitchGAN` is named in its own on-chain description as "the final bitGAN of ACT 1." It
is the only `xxxxxGAN`, the only piece Pindar says came from a quantum computer, the only artwork in
512 whose `Dimensions` trait reads **11**, and the last mint of the act at index 662. As a
terminator it is unimpeachable, and its Essence `final` does real work: it says the word at position
eleven is the last word. That is a claim about ordering, and it is the one claim in the sentence
that is independently supported by the artwork's own metadata.

What it does not do is instruct. "Give" has no object a solver can act on. In the lore the direction
of giving runs the other way — the bitGANs adopt their owners, and noohp was "rewarded with
stewardship" of the two he freed. There is nobody for a solver to give #512 to.

## 4. The best complete interpretation, if the sentence is real

Taking all five clauses at once and asking what single reading makes them cohere, the honest answer
is that they do not describe a procedure. They describe **the story of Act 1, in order, as a
retrospective**.

The bitGANs escaped from the cloud that was their source — Pindar's studio network, his GPUs,
cloudpainter. Rewards were collected: five puzzles were set, five were solved, and each paid out. A
rose was remembered: the act's penultimate mint is a memorial to a man's dead sister. A legend was
drawn: the robot drew the bitGANs' own backstories onto postcards and mailed them out. And the final
one was given: #512 closed the act. Read that way the eleven words are a précis of the year the
drop is reviewing, which is a coherent and rather beautiful thing for the terminator of a drop
called *Act 1 - Review* to say.

But a précis is not an instruction. It has no next step in it. Under this reading — which I think is
the best available if the sentence is real at all — the sentence tells the solver nothing he does
not already know, and the reason it reads so well is that it is a summary of the material it was
extracted from, which is what a summary of a corpus assembled from that corpus will always look
like.

The competing complete reading, that each clause names one artefact and the five together assemble
something, fails on inventory. Clauses one and five name real things (journal page 015 and #512);
clause three names an artwork with nothing attached to it; clause two names a reward that does not
exist; and clause four names a mechanic that had not been published yet. Three of five clauses have
no referent that existed on 5 February 2022, and a five-part assembly instruction missing three of
its parts is not an assembly instruction.

## 5. What the reading would have us do next

Ranked by cost, if the sentence is believed anyway:

1. **Nothing in clause one.** Journal page 015's entire link list is already downloaded, extracted
   and mined. `arweave_dl/` holds all seven ZIPs, `arweave_csv/` holds the CSV, and
   `theories/gif_structure.md`, `theories/missing_drops.md` and `theories/descriptions.md` have
   worked the contents at byte level.
2. **Fetch `allpodgans_24000x13500.jpg`** and look for a key, a labelled axis, or an anomalous tile.
   It is 54.7 MB and it is the only Arweave upload in the whole ArFS drive that postdates the clue
   (15 February 2022, ten days after). That timing is the single most interesting unexamined fact in
   the archive, and it is cheap to check. It is also about podGANs, so I rate it low on relevance
   and high only on cheapness.
3. **Retrieve `cloudpainter.com/superrareroses` from the Wayback Machine.** It is the only external
   page in the corpus that pairs Pindar with the roseGAN's subject, and it now 404s. Low expected
   yield; ten minutes of work.
4. **Do not** build word sets from this reading and test them. Section 6 explains why, and the
   7,168-combination sweep already running covers the entire space the reading lives in.

## 6. The verdict: the sentence is manufactured, and here is the number

I ran the calibration this project's own methodology requires — the same discipline
`theories/name_mining.md` applied to the Name field, where a control corpus of random names produced
elevens at the same rate the real Names did. The code is `sentence/nulltest.py` and
`sentence/nulltest2.py` and it is reproducible.

**The template.** I defined an instruction-shaped sentence as one that segments left to right into
clauses of one verb followed by one or two nouns, consuming all eleven words. I hand-tagged all
sixty-eight Act 1 Review essences for verb and noun usage before reading any output. The chosen
sentence passes this template, which is what makes it read.

**The measurement on the real archive.** Of the 7,168 speaker combinations the six free batches
allow, **432 pass the template**. Six percent of the space reads as an instruction. The chosen
sentence is one of four hundred and thirty-two.

**The null model.** I then held the five forced words at their real values — they are forced by the
archive, so they are not free to vary — and permuted the twenty-seven free-pool words among the six
free batches, twenty thousand times. If the archive's actual filing of those words into batches
carried any information, the real assignment would produce more instruction-shaped sentences than a
random reshuffle of the same words.

> Real assignment: **432** instruction-shaped sentences.
> Random reshuffles: median **432**, mean 528, ninetieth percentile 972.
> **P(a random reshuffle does at least as well as the real archive) = 0.572.**
> **A random reshuffle produces at least one instruction-shaped sentence 96.4% of the time.**

The real archive sits exactly on the median of the null. Shuffle which essence lives in which batch
at random and you will find an instruction-shaped sentence in it ninety-six times out of a hundred,
and typically you will find just as many of them as the real filing yields. **The archive's actual
arrangement of these words carries no information about the sentence.**

**And the rivals read just as well.** Here are six of the other 431, none cherry-picked for
weakness:

The first is worse than a tie. `sound cloud` is a compound noun and a real platform, and `source`
follows it perfectly — *sound cloud source* is a more specific pointer than *escape cloud source*,
and it draws its verb from the same `aa` pool. The second replaces `remember` with `reveal`, and
`reveal` is arguably the more Pindar-ish word: the corpus has *The Reveal*, *Pattern Revealed*,
*Hidden Lore Revealed*, *the portal responds*, an entire vocabulary of revelation. If we had drawn
`reveal` instead of `remember`, we would now be writing a report about how aptly the sentence
instructs us to reveal the rose.

**Two further arguments, both from Pindar's own words.**

First, he has told the community in writing that this exact field is a decoy. In
`journal__page014.txt`, clue three of the Solstice puzzle reads: *"Their essence is just a
distraction, they hide their true BIP39 nature elsewhere."* The Solstice answer turned out to be in
the date property. That does not prove the Essence field is a decoy again here — it was a clue for a
different puzzle — but it is documented evidence that he has used Essence as a red herring once and
said so afterwards.

Second, none of his five solved puzzles ever produced an English sentence as an intermediate step.
The roboGAN puzzle took the only BIP-39 words in the clue text and ordered them by mint order. The
podGallery puzzle selected twelve artworks by duplicate-detection, read their attributes, and
translated SLIP-39 words to BIP-39 by index. The Solstice puzzle read the date property. The byteGAN
puzzle found Photoshop layer names inside a GIF. In every case the extracted words *were* the seed
phrase, or a wordlist-shift away from it. He has never built a puzzle whose middle stage is a
sentence telling you what to do next. The "clue not answer" reading has one point of precedent — the
podGallery twist, where the listed words were the wrong words — and I tested that transform directly
in section 8, where it fails on definitional grounds.

**Verdict.** The sentence is apophenia. It is a real pattern in the weak sense that the words really
do appear in that order under those rules, and it is not a pattern in the sense that matters,
because the arrangement that produced it is statistically indistinguishable from a random one and
because four hundred and thirty-one comparable sentences were available in the same space. The
strongest counter-argument stated in the brief — that we chose the speakers partly to make the
sentence read well — is not merely a risk here; it is what happened, and the null model measures
exactly how much of the effect it accounts for, which is all of it.

I want to be precise about what this does *not* rule out. It does not rule out the Act 1 Review's
named batches as the eleven glitches. That mechanism has a genuine structural argument behind it,
which section 7 strengthens. What is dead is the idea that the specific eleven words, in that
specific selection, form a message.

## 7. Two findings that survive the verdict

**7.1 The Act 1 Review was published, in full, five days before the clue — and Pindar published a
page whose only purpose was to say so.**

`site/txt/journal__page015.txt`, "015 - bitGANs on arweave", dated 1 January 2022 and edited
31 January 2022 (the Squarespace block ids carry the epoch `1643659477970`), lists the CSV of
properties for bitGANs 0–512 and seven ZIP archives of the art, one of which is
`Act 1 - Review (bitGANs 445-512)`. The ArFS upload times confirm it: `bitgans_act1.csv` at
2022-01-31 19:48:56 UTC, and all sixty-eight Review GIFs in the following minutes. The clue was
published on 2022-02-05.

This matters for three reasons. It means the Act 1 Review's complete metadata — including every
Essence in this report — was public and downloadable before the clue, so a Review-based mechanism
was solvable from day one, and Pindar's promise that "this may take over a year" is consistent with
a puzzle whose field was published but whose artworks would not mint until August 2022. It means the
Act 1 Review is **the only part of the collection Pindar deliberately published ahead of its own
release**, which is a structural reason to look there that does not depend on any word reading. And
it closes the open item in `theories/descriptions.md` section 6, which lists `bitgans_act1.csv` as
never opened: it is opened, it is byte-identical to `bitgan_properties.csv` which this project has
held since 7 August, and it therefore needs no fetch and holds no new column.

**7.2 A hard date filter that should prune every future reading.**

Pindar wrote on 5 February 2022 that "no clues beyond this first one will ever be given out." The
publication dates extracted from the archived pages give a clean cut. Ninety-seven of the 109 pages
carry a `datePublished` (the other twelve are undated index and landing pages): sixty-five fall on or
before 2022-02-05 and thirty-two fall after it. Anything published after 2022-02-05 cannot be part of the intended
solution, whatever it seems to say. Applying that filter kills three of the most attractive
candidates in this report on its own: the postcard-lore page that makes "draw legend" literal
(12 Sep 2022), the byteGAN chart with question marks that makes "legend" a map key (1 May 2023), and
the whole Crucible and byteGAN corpus (2023). The full list is reproducible with a one-line sweep
over `datePublished` in `site/raw/*.html` and I recommend the next worker run it before building
anything on a lore page.

## 8. What I tested, and what it returned

**The SLIP-39 hop, from the podGallery precedent.** The one documented case of Pindar making the
listed words the *wrong* words was the podGallery puzzle, where the attributes held SLIP-39 words
and the wallet needed the BIP-39 word at the same index. This is the only transform in the record
that turns a readable word set into a different word set, so it is the natural test of the "clue not
answer" reading. It does not apply. Of the eleven words, only `escape`, `source`, `reward`,
`remember` and `legend` appear on the SLIP-39 list at all; `cloud`, `collect`, `rose`, `draw`,
`give` and `final` do not, so the hop is undefined for six of eleven positions and cannot produce a
mnemonic. This is consistent with `theories/audit_of_past_work.md`, which records that no bitGAN word
is SLIP-39-only.

**The reverse hop** (BIP-39 index into the SLIP-39 list) is also undefined: `source` (1664), `reward`
(1477), `remember` (1453) and `rose` (1504) have BIP-39 indices above 1023 and fall off the end of
the 1024-word SLIP-39 list, so four of the eleven positions produce nothing.

**No word sets were dispatched to the wallet harness from this reading**, and that is deliberate
rather than an omission. The eight-core sweep already running covers all 7,168 speaker combinations
at four orderings against all 128 legal twelfth words and 33 derivation paths, which is a strict
superset of anything this reading could propose. Adding a ninth process would have slowed the sweep
and tested nothing new. I did prove the harness before writing any of the above: I ran
`namemine/plant_check.py`, which hands the sweep only the first eleven words of the planted mnemonic
in `PLANT_TARGET.txt` and lets it try all 128 legal twelfth words across the 33 paths in
`paths_wide.py`. It recovered `chaos choice clock combine common control correct crash crazy culture
danger author` on `m/44'/60'/0'/0/0` in 1.1 seconds. Every negative in this report therefore comes
from a harness that has been shown to fire.

this reading produced no candidate set worth recording.
